What is barre?
Barre is a conditioning class started by a dancer Lotte Berk. She sought to keep her dancer’s physique and strength after she retired from the profession.
Word had it that she used to tap students with a cane to make sure everyone was in the correct alignment and no one was cheating!!
We’ve ditched the cane (you’re welcome!) and offer sessions in a much more holistic way.
You’ll definitely still be able to feel into the shakes (don’t worry about that!!). And we have fun with exploring our edge, but also listen to your body, and to slow it down when you need.
Who is barre for?
Everyone is welcome, absolutely no dance experience necessary.
Barre is a method that has pared ballet movements down to their simplest form so that everyone can enjoy the benefits!
It’s low impact and will make a positive difference to how your body feels.
